Bass Bug flies
Bass Bugs are a generic pattern, generally made from spun deer hair, designed to create a surface disturbance and profile to imitate an animal swimming along the surface of the water. Bass in rivers and impoundments are opportunistic feeders, always on the lookout for a mouse, small lizard, hopper, or large insect caught on the surface struggling to find dry land. At other times a wounded, fleeing baitfish skipping across the waters surface will be ringing the proverbial dinner bell to the waiting bass. The Bass Bug is an exciting way to fish for these predators as you turn your piece of deerhair, rubber and feather into a mouse, a lizard, or a fleeing baitfish. Surface takes are explosive and addictive!
