Bee Flies
Order: Apoidea
The superfamily Apoidea are a very large and varied group of
bees and wasps. Bees that get blown onto rivers and lakes make
for a fine meal by a surface feeding fish. Social bees (including
the honey bee) are only part of the bee family and you may find
there are other types of native bees in your area that form part
of the food chain in your waterways. Try fishing a bee pattern
dead-drift over a sighted fish or as a searching pattern. It makes
for an interesting and fun change from fishing spinners and nymphs.
As part of our range of fly fishing flies we are committed to bring
you a wide selection of
bee flies. Help us build our stock
of
bees by requesting your favorite patterns.
