Spider Flies
Order: Arachnida
Spiders are found around waterways, attracted to the rich source
of food such places provide. Subsequently spiders also fall prey
to fish when they are on or in the water and thus become a rich
source of food themselves. Don't confuse the English we flies
called spiders with specific spider imitations. The traditional
English wet fly in question is intended to be a sub-emerger or
drowned mayfly, although they may be mistaken for some sort of
spider.
