Termite flies
Order: Isoptera
On warm humid days flying termites set out in their thousands to find new places to colonise. It's also on these days that many of these clumsy fliers end up on lakes and streams, caught in the surface film waiting to be consumed by a rising fish. On such days try presenting a termite imitation dead-drift ahead of rising trout using a fine leader and tippet and avoiding any drag.
