Custom Made to Order	Capt. Mike Starke has fished the Bahamas and Caribbean for over 20 years - if anyone knows about catching bonefish it's Mike. He developed the BamBoozle that consistently produces large bonefish. It is designed to simulate the small shrimp and crabs that inhabit the tropical flats where bonefish hang out. Bonefish cruise along the bottom looking on the sea bed for its next meal. These flies are best dropped to the bottom and with a short sharp strip dart it along followed by a pause allowing it to settle back on the bottom. The sudden movement will cause a puff of sand to come up just like a spooked shrimp darting away. In very shallow water bones will be spooky so be subtle with your technique.

Custom Made to Order	The Crazy Charlie was conceived by Bob Nauheim in the late 1970's on Andros Island in the Bahamas. When it first started taking fish Bonefish Charlie Smith would say 'Dat fly nasty!' and so it was named the "Nasty Charlie". It was tied with a hackle wing at the time. The fly went on to have great success in Key West on bonefish. Capt. Jan Isley started to tie the fly with a hair wing. The fly then went on to have success at Christmas Island in the Pacific and Leigh Perkins of Orvis started tying the fly commercially and the name was changed to "Crazy Charlie" - it has become the most popular flats fly ever. This is probably 'the' stock-standard fly for flats fishing and has spawned countless variations. Bonefish have probably seen more Crazy Charlies than any other fly created!

Made To Order	Pete Perincchief developed this little number for bonefish and may be the original inverted hook pattern for bonefish. The original Horror may have been a full body of yellow chenille with a wing of brown bucktail tied in the middle and flaring out over the hook.

Made To Order	The salt shrimp is great for the flats - designed by Dave Whitlock, it is a realistic little pattern to cover all those targets that have a diet of shrimp. It has a slow sink rate and lends itself to situations where you need extended sink time. When chasing Bonefish in shallow waters with sea grass, try this pattern (or a similar unweighted fly) as it will give the fish more time to spot the fly before it settles down into the cover of grass.

Made To Order	This simple shrimp pattern is an effective realistic fly that lends itself to most inshore applications. The synthetic fibers become translucent in the water and give the fly a lot of 'action' without much movement from the rod/line. Dart this one over the flats or at the edges of estuary openings and then let it drop and wait on the bottom before 'darting' off again.
